Bio John Richard Howley
In 1955 John worked in co-operation with John Perceval & Arthur Merric Boyd A M Boyd Pottery in Melbourne. The circular earthenware bowl is hand painted with a outback scene of a farmer outside his home with a rifle in his hand, an unusual scene depicting the harsh conditions of the land. It is a Handmade wheel-thrown glazed earthenware bowl by Arthur Boyd with a painted underglaze of the image.
As the Boyd’s business grew, they worked with more artists and friends to help out. These included Neil Douglas, Charles Blackman, Jean Langley, Tim and Betty Burstall, John Howley and John Yule. The studio is renowned for the artistic movement that it created in Australia and the number of well known artists that worked together to create some real Australian masterpieces
Condition
Item has light wear from use due to age No Chips No Cracks Does have some Crazing to the whole bowl, there is a glazing defect before the item was fired lower left as shown in photos. In (Great condition) see photos as photos play an important role in description of condition will be posted in Cardboard and foam packaging send us an message so we can do combined postage to save you money if you buy more than one item Please note that some items cannot be combined because of delicate nature e.g. Delicate Glass items
