Biography
Philippa James was train by Merric Boyd around the 1920s probably working out of the Merric Boyd’s Studio in Murrumbeena “Open Country”
Philippa James’s Work is a perfect example of early Australian pottery with natural designs inspired from the bush, most of her designs incorporated gum leaves and nuts with earthy glazes and sometimes rustic looks, very little information is know about Philippa James and her work, if you have any information and would like to share please feel free to send us a email.
